“We’re all in this together”

Reminiscing on past years, Clara loosely based Nightmare on Pinehurst on significant people, stories, folklore, and events experienced at Canyon Elementary. As an original play written by and for the students, the dialogue had most of the cast playing versions of themselves, with character names matching their own. This connection made the actors care deeply for their individual roles and collaborative performances, while simultaneously providing an engaging, entertaining, and easily digestible experience for a non-theatrical audience of community locals.
